Vale Chris Geraghty

Chris was a valued Garratt Publishing author whose thoughtful, courageous, and deeply researched writing challenged readers to look again at the Church, its history and its understanding of women.

 

Jesus the Forgotten Feminist and Virgins & Jezebels: The Origins of Christian Misogyny – both published by Garratt Publishing – reflected Chris’s lifelong engagement with Scripture, theology, and the Church. As an author, his writing was a distinctive combination of scholarship, experience, and an incisive legal mind. Before his retirement, Chris had worked as an ordained priest, lectured in theology, and served as a judge. We were privileged to publish his work and share his distinctive voice with readers, and extend our deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and all those who knew and loved him.
