A 3rd-century Christian, Christopher was a carrier; for work, he took goods and people safely across rivers. Legend holds that one day a young child asked if he could be carried. The heavy child turned out to be Jesus bearing the weight of the world. Christopher was being called to carry Christ and His message. Carrying all safely, Christopher is now the patron saint of travelers
