Drawing on sources from the past (Scripture, and the classic metaphysical tradition), current phenomenological approaches (in France and North America), and anticipations of a developing cosmic consciousness in faith and theology, Light in Darkness addresses the increasing banality of religious language by bringing together the theological and philosophical types of exploration (e.g., Marion, Lacoste) and retrieving Aquinas’s approach in a contemporary manner (e.g., W. Norris Clarke).
The exploration is grounded in the concept of the Trinitarian God and creation in human consciousness (e.g., Lonergan, Polanyi), which provides openness to interreligious dialogue in relations to the role of the Spirit and liturgy.
