Garratt Publishing and Saint Mary’s Press warmly invite you to the
OPENING THE BIBLE, OPENING DIALOGUE
Using The Catholic Youth Bible in Secondary Religious Education
WEBINAR
Tuesday 4 August 2026
7:00 pm (AEST)
Steven Ellair, Director of Content Development at Saint Mary’s Press, will introduce Australian secondary teachers of religious education to practical ways of using The Catholic Youth Bible: 4th International Edition to support Scripture learning across Years 7–12.
The session will explore strategies for helping students access, understand, and engage with Scripture, especially where students bring varied levels of prior biblical knowledge and diverse religious backgrounds. Participants will discover how The Catholic Youth Bible’s student-friendly features can support these strategies and help make Scripture more accessible, meaningful, and relevant in the classroom. The webinar will offer practical approaches that teachers can adapt to their own diocesan curriculum requirements and school contexts.
By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Connect Scripture passages and The Catholic Youth Bible resources to themes relevant to secondary students.
- Identify practical ways The Catholic Youth Bible can support student access to Scripture.
- Apply strategies for using The Catholic Youth Bible with secondary students of varying levels of biblical knowledge.
Accreditation^ is available for eligible teachers seeking professional development hours. One hour of accreditation can be claimed. Certificates will be issued post the completion of the event.
We hope you can join us.
