SYNOD ON SYNODALITY – Towards the Synod 2024 Opening: October and Beyond

Synod on Synodality

Via Zoom (AEST)

4.30pm AEST

Published on 9 July 2024, the Instrumentum Laboris (Working Document) for the second Assembly of the Synod in October 2024 sets the tone and expectations for the Assembly.

A key question for Catholics is: Will it be enough to restore credibility and confidence in an ailing church and reverse the rapidly declining engagement with Mass and the sacraments?

Catholics across the globe have expressed their concerns and desires in copious submissions over the past six years. Will those heart-felt expressions be heard and acted on?

Continuing the pattern of moderated conversations in table groups, the outcomes of this gathering will, in effect, be a test of the synodal process and the quality of Catholic leadership.

Massimo Faggioli and John Warhurst will dicuss these questions, the upcoming Synod, and the future beyond the Synod.

A Question & Answer session will follow.

We hope you can join us.

YOUR SUPPORT IS APPRECIATED
ACCCR works to bring about the Church we dream of – a Christ-like Church. Pope Francis’ Synod on Synodality is a moment of hope for this Church. Synodality means all the baptised work together equally in the Church’s mission. We encourage all Catholics to be involved in synodal activities, as well as other activities for renewal and reform. Communication and awareness-raising are essential features. For this we need resources to pay for events as we build on previous werbinars and publications. All ACCCR members involved volunteer their time and effort.
