Laudate Deum Webinar

Ecology

Zoom (AEST)

10 Years of Laudato Si’: from Hope to Action

It’s been 10 years since Pope Francis released his encyclical, Laudato Si’: On Care for Our Common Home. During these 10 years, Laudato Si’ has become more than the title of Pope Francis’ encyclical. It has become a movement, a verb (people are seen to be ‘doing’ or ‘not doing’ Laudato Si’), and it is an adjective (That isn’t very Laudato Si’!).

To celebrate, Garratt Publishing will be hosting a series of Ecology Webinars.

This webinar, Laudate Deum, will focus on Pope Francis’s Laudate Deum and our call to climate action and climate justice.

Did you know Laduato Si’ has a sequel? It’s called Laudate Deum!

In 2023, Pope Francis was due to attend the COP28 meeting on climate change, but unfortunately, he fell ill. He then released to us the gift of the statement he intended to make – Laudate DeumLaudate Deum is a reminder of our call to act for climate justice in our world.

This webinar will focus on how we can all play a role in advocating for change for people and the planet.

Joining Alice Carwardine will be Thea Ormerod, President of the Australian Religious Response to Climate Change. Thea has been a champion of climate justice for many years, particularly working with all peoples of faith in Australia, not just the Catholic Church.

Accreditation is available.^

We look forward to you joining us.
