Controversial, demanding and often misunderstood, Paul remains one of the most compelling figures in early Christianity – a tireless advocate of the Gospel and a passionate witness to Christian love. His mission to bring the Good News to all people was central to the growth of the Church and the spread of Christianity across the world.
A Friendly Guide to Paul invites readers on a journey into the life and letters of this complex apostle. Energetic, courageous and deeply committed, Paul was also a man of his time, addressing the challenges of emerging Christian communities in ways that can still provoke questions today. Did he oppose marriage? Was he hostile to women? Why can his words seem so sharp or confronting?
Christopher J Monaghan, a leading Australian New Testament scholar, engages these questions with clarity and insight, helping readers better understand Paul’s context, message and enduring influence.
Accessible and engaging, this guide is ideal for students, teachers, parish groups, RCIA participants and all who seek a deeper understanding of Paul and his place in the Christian story.
