In May 2022, Yarra Theological Union (YTU), Garratt Publishing and the Australasian Catholic Coalition for Church Reform (ACCCR) offered a series of ground-breaking, essential seminars as the Australian Church and People of God journeyed to the second (and final) assembly of the Australian Plenary Council, and in preparation for the Synod on Synodality.

The Building the Church We Need webinar series focused on synodality, governance and leadership of the Church in the context of Church renewal.

An outstanding panel of local and international experts offered insights into the Plenary, the preparations for the Pope’s Synod of Bishops, and initiatives globally in places such as Germany, Ireland and more.

Particular focus was given to the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference’s commissioned The Light from the Southern Cross report, which offers an inclusive approach to governance – with a clear ethos of synodality.
